The pen turns over in her hand,
Embraced in the place between her thumb and index finger.
Back and forwards.
Smooth over dry skin.
And her eyes follow
And fascinate
With the light shining off the gray textures.
The lettering
On it’s skin.
Encasing
The black liquid
Hiding inside;
Until it is called upon
To make love to white pages,
And become one with her hand.
And in a room full of noise, bad lighting and the monotonous sound of equations explained a hundred times over,
The pen looks oddly beautiful to her,
Almost like a part of her.
Or a part of a love once lost. (or never found)
Residing there in the valley between fingers.
Caressing the texture of bleached dry skin.
They are one and the same.

I wrote this yesterday, sitting in class, wondering what to wrote about. I was running my pen between my fingers and just studying it, ands then I had the brilliant idea to write about my pen.
I put this in the romance section, because according to the description ''It is entirely possible to be romantic about ice cream, cookies, other inventive brands of romance.'' Well there you go DA, someone actually did it. (sortof)

It doesn't sit well with me -I think for the reasons that the word 'caressing' is repeated, and that with a push and a little more detail in your description could make it a fantastic piece. I think you're sold yourself short this time, because I know you can do better 
I've seen it. Push yourself 
and you move forward. It has a nice flow and was easy to read, a little more structure would be nice, but overall enjoyed.
